
The Maltese register, 9H, was started in 1969. Today there are in excess of 90 aircraft on the Maltese register of which just over 15% are business aviation aircraft.

Malta was amongst the first countries in the JAA (Europe’s Joint Aviation Authorities) to adopt JAR’s (Joint Aviation Rules) and enact it in its legislation.
In line with EU legislation all Maltese AOC’s(Air Operator Certificate) have been converted to EU-OPS and new applications will be issued to EU-OPS standards.
Malta is a member of the European Union since 2004.
Malta has adopted the Euro on the 1st January 2008.
Malta has one of the most tax efficient infrastructures within the EU.
Malta is bi-lingual. All legislation in Malta is published in both Maltese and English.
